Wilton Pirate Ship Shaped Pan

This pirate pan was a life saver. My son wanted a pirate cake and a pirate cake he got. The directions made it very easy to use even for a modest baker. We all are happy with this pan.

I will preface this by saying I am an avid baker who is familiar with intricate designs and complex undertakings. I have used molded cake pans before with great success. This was less than perfect. The details in the ship are not overly intricate, so I am not sure why they didn't come out. That being said, they didn't come out! I ended up having to create all of the details with fondant.

The shape of the pan itself is cute. Since I have the pan, I might try it one more time, but not for my son's birthday party!

A bit small,... check the size if it's ok for you,... I think it says it the details the lbs for the cake to make.
I don't spend much time in the kitchen,... and won't be baking this cake my self,... so probably good to let someone check this for you if you are not familiar with baking cakes.

That said,... we still like it,.... and it's going to be great for the b-day party.
The idea is to either bake a couple of cakes, two, three or four (not sure yet),... or bake one larger rectangular cake as a base, decorate the base as rough sea, ... bake the pirate ship cake, and put it on top of the large sea cake. It's going to look so cool!

I find the price a bit high,.. but I've looked around on several sites, and wasn't able to find it lower anywhere else. I guess it's about the price you pay for theme cake pans these days. Shipment was fast.
