I received this Christmas morning after hinting that I wanted to try baking with a non-stick silicone pan.
I rated it one star because I couldn't get ZERO stars to work.
After having cooked perhaps a hundred angel food cakes--made both from scratch and using packaged mixes--in my old aluminum pan, I am extremely disappointed with this product. The aluminum pans are not perfect to be sure, or I wouldn't have looked so longingly at this one. On the old pan, the cake has to be carefully separated from both sides and bottom with a slender knife, and they're a pain to wash.
After watching "Chef Tony" pitch these on late night TV--or very similar blue ones--wiping out the pan with a damp cloth, I was astonished to find this was damn near impossible to clean. Soaking in very hot soapy water loosened the easy stuff but even scrubbing extremely hard with a sponge and then a white scrubbing pad had little effect on the crease between the bottom and the...Read more
