Norpro Nonstick 10--Inch Springform With Glass Base

... Just like Flower Girl says it does. I saw this pan in a local high-end discount store, and absolutely HAD to have it! I bought it, used it to make two cheesecakes from scratch, and found that the syrupy liquid produced by my from-scratch crust and cheesecake continually seeped through the base of the pan as the cake chilled in my refrigerator. On top of that, after leaving the remainder of the second cheesecake at a friend's, she ran it through her dishwasher to clean it, only to have the pan leave the dishwasher with a large, three inch wide swath of the nonstick coating missing due to running it through the dishwasher. NOT what I would expect from a "professional quality" springform pan.

The concept here is a great one, but Norpro needs to put a little more effort, and quality, into their execution of it. Another handy alteration would be the addition of handles on the sides of the springform pan. Just a thought...

At first I was happy with this pan, but the first time I baked something that had a more liquid base it leaked. I can't bake a cheesecake in this because it makes a huge mess of my oven. I'm tossing it out and finding one that won't leak.

Cooks beautifully, non-stick ring performs well, glass bottom prevents scorching as well as making a great serving platter - eliminates the circus act of getting the cheesecake from the pan base to a plate without cracking it. Very satisfied customer!
