Norpro 3964 Cream Canoe Pan With Bonus 9 Piece Decorating Set

Comment: I bought this pan to make my own oil-free vegan corn dogs. My second use for the pan was with some of the (vegan oil-free) carrot cake recipe I was making; it was such a great idea and they popped right out, no oil spray or parchment paper necessary. The only time it stuck was when I made a chocolate cake recipe and baked fresh blueberries into the centers; there wasn't enough cake mix and the blueberries burst/leaked and make the "twinkies" stick a little. I tried out the decorating kit just once, to try and fill a carrot cake twinkie, and it worked neither too badly nor too well. It definitely seems like it was an afterthought when they came up with the twinkie pan idea and could be designed better. The only flaw with the pan is that it only makes 8 pieces. You could split your cake mix into 8 twinkies and 6 cupcakes, or 4 twinkies and one medium-height loaf-pan cake.

Comment: I baked a batch of twinkies immediately after i received this pan from the Courier man. These cute little cakes dislodged easily from the pan and look remarkably similar to the real thing. More importantly - Homemade twinkies taste BETTER than the real twinkies cos all the ingredients are fresh - no chemical stuff to prolongs its shelf life! :)

Comment: this pan is great -perfect shape adn cakes unmold so easily... if you want to treat your kids or yourself with a special homemade treat buy it and make your own filled cakes.

Comment: I just received my norpro cream canoe pan and have already made up a batch using the recipe I found in "Mary Janes Farm" magazine. It made just enough for the pan,they popped out right away and are now cooling and waiting for the filling. I am looking forward to using this pan a lot and would recommend it to anyone that enjoys baking something a bit different.
