Product Review

The professional-weight formed metal bakeware is a wonderful addition to any kitchen. Non-stick coated, it allows for easy and effortless clean up. Makes coffee cake rings just like fancy bakeries. 13 cup capacity. Proudly made in the USA by Nordic Ware.

Amazon.com Review

Serve a coffee cake made in this pan by NordicWare and guests will think it just arrived from the neighborhood bakery. Crafted from heavy aluminum, the deep, round vessel conducts uniform heat across all of its surfaces and incorporates a center tube to further ensure evenly moist insides and a lightly browned crust. The nonstick coating facilitates food release and makes cleanup a breeze. Also useful for the elegant presentation of many cake or mold recipes, the pan generously holds 12 cups of batter. It measures 10-1/2-inches in diameter and is rust-, corrosion-, and warp-resistant. --Kara Karll

This is the best pan I have ever used for making coffeecake. I usually buy the Duncan Hines Cinnamon Swirl cake mix and use only 1 cup of water and 4 eggs and 1/2 cup oil. This makes the cake more dense than the recipe on the back of the box and is more like coffeecake than layer cake. I put a thin powdered sugar glaze on top and it is really a hit wherever I take it. This pan is the perfect size. It hold a larger amount of batter than the standard Bundt pan so I don't have to worry about spill-overs. Great product.

I love Nordic Ware pans. They are heavy, produce great results and make every cake special. But this Pro Form Coffee Cake pan did not live up to my expectations.
For example, it took me 5 cakes to get the cake to come out properly in 1 piece. I used Pam, I used shortening and flour - what worked for me was a very heavy coating of shortening (I used Crisco) to make sure the cake didn't stick. Also the pan chipped a bit and I've never had that problem with a Nordic Wear pan before.
On the positive side, it does hold 13 cups of batter. Yes, I said _13_ cups of batter. So if you're making a cake for a crowd or doubled the recipe, it can fit into this pan quite nicely with little or no spillover.
I do recommend this pan but I'd advise heavy greasing of the pan when you use it. Otherwise, a good pan.

I used this pan for the third time today. Before using it today, I noticed that there was a little chip (abou 1/4 inch)in the nonstick coating along the rim. After using it today, even more of the coating has chipped off. Now the coating is chipped off about 3/4 inch in two spots. I own probably 15 Nordicware pans and this has never happened. I purchased this item less than a year ago from Amazon but was unimpressed by their return policy. So I called Nordicware and was astonished by their prompt and satisfactory response. They promise to send me a replacement. I would give the product a one-star rating except after speaking to Nordicware customer service, I am hopeful that the replacement will be up to the standards of the other Nordicware products that I own.
