Nordic Ware Pro Cast Stadium Pan

I bought this stadium cake pan before my Super Bowl party. It is a nonstick, heavyweight good quality cake pan. I was afraid that the cake would not come out easily due to the detailing in the stadium pan. To my surprise, the cake released easily and beautifully. The cake really looks like a football stadium! My guests were extremely impressed with the cake and I cannot wait to use the pan again.

One piece of advice is to slightly reduce the amount of cake batter placed in the pan. I used an 18.25 oz box of cake mix and the batter overflowed out of the pan and onto the bottom of my oven.

I got this to make a Super Bowl party cake, and had never made a Bundt cake in my life. The pan comes with a suggested recipe, but I used the Create Your Own recipe from the Nordic Ware website. There are also great tips for baking Bundts on their site. The important thing to keep in mind is that it's a 10-cup capacity pan, but most Bundt recipes are for 12 cups. Don't fill it more than halfway and it should work fine. The recipe I used made enough batter for the pan plus 6 regular size cupcakes. I used shortening and flour to prepare the pan, and a couple of the small details got lost due to minor sticking - it was hard to brush the shortening into all of the tiny crevices. Next time I use it, I'll get a cooking spray with flour to see if it works better (Nordic Ware recommends Baker's Joy).

I made a cake for Superbowl. Turn out just pretty! Make sure to butter your pan before pouring batter.
