This magical castle pan from NordicWare's Platinum baking series is an imaginative addition to the company's novelty bundt collection. Featuring a great door with a stone entryway, tall corner towers, and high fortress walls (a clever disguise for the center tube), the pan transforms 10 cups of cake batter into a realistic medieval building. What a fun cake shape for a birthday boy! Bakers will love the heavyweight cast aluminum construction for its gentle, balanced heating that produces deliciously moist centers and lightly browned crusts. The pan also features a nonstick interior for easy food release and a heat-reflective exterior to prevent edges from overcooking and burning. Especially durable and warp-resistant, every detail on the pan transfers clearly to the baked good- so bring out the decorating tools and get creative. A narrow outside rim facilitates flipping and carrying. Measuring 9-3/4 inches square by approximately 4-1/2 inches high, this pan is best washed by hand to ensure years of quality service. It is made in the USA and comes with a limited lifetime warranty. --Kara Karll
Comment: I bought this pan as a gift for my girlfriend. She loves it. We had a dinner party about a week ago, and we were both extremely impressed by the quality of the cake and the detail the cake retained. My girlfriend followed the advice of another reviewer, and made sure to spray liquid flour thoroughly inside the pan, and that advice seems to be good advice.
The pan itself is surprisingly heavy. One point to consider is that the cake must be baked upside-down, so use a pan under the turret tops to stabilize the cake while it is in the oven.

Comment: I bought this on a lark one summer to make a sandcastle cake and it was such a hit. All I used was a dump cake recipe and used Bakers Joy and it didn't stick at all. The kids had a blast decorating with gummy bears lying on "beach towels" made of fruit rollups and lying under cocktail umbrellas. Then for Halloween I made it a chocholate spooky castle cake and for Christmast it was peppermint Christmas castle. Very fun and easy to use.

Comment: I was a little worried that the cake would get stuck because the design was so intricate, but the instructions were easy and it came out great!

Comment: I bought this pan for making a novelty version of my Caribean rum cake to take to party's, it was a huge hit. Only thing wrong was that no one wanted to be the first to cut into the awesome looking cake!
I was wondering how the cake was going to come out of the pan after baking but it was no problem after spraying and flouring the pan before baking it. This would be a great pan to use for childrens birthday parties as well. Add some flags to the towers and your good to go!
