I like this cake lifter better than the Wilton one I also own. The Nordic will lift a larger cake and is very sturdy, yet thin enough to slip under a fragile cake without ruining it. The description is wrong -- the handle doesn't fold -- but I don't have a problem storing it as-is. I was worried it would be hard on my wrist to keep it steady, especially when positioning multiple cake layers, but I've had no problem handling it. Easy to clean too.

This lifter works well for moving cakes or pizzas. The main reason I chose this one over the others was that this one was made in the USA!!

I was catering a dinner party for 30 people and was serving a savory cheesecake for an appetizer as well as 2 dessert cheesecakes throughout the meal. How impressive to whip this out from my bag of tricks to lift the cakes up and off the bottom of the springform pans. But to add to that, this cake lifter is sturdy and well made. I'm glad to have it as one of my many kitchen tools.
