This is a tiny little thing, but nestled on green coconut grass with a few tiny eggs, covered with sweetened whipped cream frosting and coconut, it is a lovely Easter centerpiece and dessert. I used a pound cake mix, because it is so dense, and I baked the leftover batter in a loaf pan. Grease the whole thing LIBERALLY with Crisco, especially the head. Your first cake might not come out of the mold, but when the pan is seasoned (second try) it should.

My mother-in-law has made a lamb cake for Easter for as long as my husband can remember, so I decided to surprise her with a lamb cake when she came out to visit us for Easter this past year. I made a pumpkin bread in the mold, and it turned out great. I sprayed it with canola oil as recommended before pouring the batter in and my lamb turned out great on the first try.
