Kaiser, one of the premium makers of metal bakeware, just keeps improving. This innovative round cake pan, for example, from their ExtraodinAire line features superior, heavyweight steel combined with two-layer insulated construction to ensure that baked good come out consistently cooked and golden brown. Another great feature is that the outside bottom of the pan is molded with Kaiser's patented raised X pattern, which prevents the pan from warping or buckling when hot. Because the pan is coated inside and out with a durable two-ply nonstick coating, baked goodies will release quickly and cleanup is a breeze--just pop it in the dishwasher or wipe clean with a sponge. This dark metal pan will continue to darken to a rich sheen with age, and because dark surfaces retain heat more readily, you will need to adjust your oven temperature down 25 degrees to prevent overbrowning. --Marianne Painter
