My son's fiance requested a hexagon wedding cake. They are what they are: 3" hexagon pans. I like the quality/weight and purchased the four available sizes: 14", 12", 10" and 8". I had hoped to line the pans, bake them to top edge and split into three layers, therefore eliminating the need for baking *two* cakes of each size. However, everything I read, advised to only half fill a 3" cake pan, to avoid uneven baking (read *after* I purchased the pans). I wrapped the pans in magic strips and used a heating core in the 14" and 12". Purchased magic strips don't cover a 3" pan, but home-made ones could. My only criticism is that the 2" difference in graduated sizes made for very little stacking margin. I would have liked a 3" difference (as readily available in round and square pans), but that has nothing to do with quality. They are good quality pans. A 14" hexagon is actually 14"/15". 1.e. 14" from flat edge to flat edge, but 15" from point to point. Same for 12" (12"/13"); 10"...Read more
