Doughmakers products are heavy aluminum with a pebbled pattern interior surface, The purpose of which is to prevent sticking of your baked goods. I own this pan as well as three 9" round cake pans. My next purchase will be their pie pans. These products are a bit pricey, but will last longer than I will live. The thickness of the aluminum is very impressive, so much so that it would take a mighty blow to make a dent in them. They clean up pretty well, though they are taking on a mottled brown discoloration with use. I'm sure they can be restored to their original bright sheen with a proper cleanser. The finished product of cakes in these pans is nothing but gorgeous layers with level, nicely-browned tops. I never plan to use any other brand cake pans.
