I can understand the other reviewer's frustration with this mold, but my experience was all positive. I do not bake in the silicone pans, I use them as soap molds for my handcrafted soaps. This silicone is thicker, and thus not as supple as some of my other molds, which I can see would make it difficult to remove baked goods--and even jello. However it works beautifully for soap. These bugs have a lot of detail to them and so after the soap has been in the mold for 24 hours I recommend freezing it in the mold for a few hours before removing it. Then just push on the back of the mold, inverting the impression, and the soap peels right off.

I was nervous about this from reading the reviews, and I did find it a bit tricky to get the cookies out of the pan when it was still hot and flopping around, but the bug-shaped madeleines were well worth the effort! I'm glad I bought this for a bug-themed children's party, and am going to let my mom use it for her Spring brunches.
Disappointed,

For my grandchildren's summer garden party we were so looking forward to having bug jello. However, the jello did not come out of the molds intact and we had a bug jello mess. Next time I'll go with a metal mold.
