Chicago Metallic is my go-to brand for any bakeware. I believe that they are possibly the best brand of bakeware in the US, based on the fact that their pans seem to win top place in all of the reviews by America's Test Kitchen and Cook's Illustrated. [The Gold Touch pans sold by Williams Sonoma, which one several of these awards, were manufactured by Chicago Metallic at the time they won the top ratings. Williams-Sonoma recently changed the manufacturer of their Gold Touch line, however, and they're no longer made by Chicago Metallic. Boo.]

These are good quality pans, heavier than your typical baking pans, but well worth the price if you can afford them and do enough baking to warrant better pans. The extra metal that is used in these pans makes them better at conducting heat (hence no colder spots in your food) and better at "browning." Browning is the creation of a very thin brown layer/crust around your cake or baked good that contributes excellent flavor and...Read more

If you're a fan of America's Test Kitchen, you know that not only are these cake pans great, but that they're not just for cakes.

The pans are high quality and easy to clean - soak, wash, rinse, dry. The darker metal makes for more heat capture and browning, which is generally a good thing. The directions do recommend setting your oven 25 degrees lower than you would otherwise, however. So keep that in mind.

As I said, these are not just for cakes. I have made pizzas in them - lowest rack and a good amount of oil makes for crisp, fried crusts. They are useful for rolls and other uses which also benefit from having the 2" sides.

They can be bought cheaper at BB&B if you have a coupon, but otherwise Amazon's price can't be beat if you factor in free shipping and the convenience.

Great multi-use pans. I have two and might get two more.

ok, I have had these pans about 2 months and haven't even used them yet! In my cabinet, the inside nonstick coating has already been scuffed and looks bad. I am careful with my stuff and have never had this problem before....JUNK
