This review is from: Airplane Cake Pan - 11 x 10.75 Inches (Kitchen) First the cons:1. There are virtually no directions on how to cook this. 2. The edges of the pan are sharp. Cut the palm of my hand when flouring the pan. Now the pros: 1. Cake was beautiful! 2. Came out very clean with the greased and floured pan. I used a standard store bought cake mix. I cooked the airplane mold on a pan just in case it spilled over. I filled it about 1/2 to 1/3 full and with the remaining batter, I was able to make 8 additional standard sized cupcakes. I baked it (per the cake box) at 350. I started with 35 minutes, then checked it every 5 minutes after that. Final time was between 40-45 minutes. The batter did rise a little above the top of the mold, but it didn't spill over. The little "hill" that it left made the airplane look raised/elevated when it was flipped over and out of the mold. Looking forward to decorating it later today. 2 of 5 people found the following review helpful: By Carole Sciotto (MANTEO, NC, US) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Airplane Cake Pan - 11 x 10.75 Inches (Kitchen) This made a delightful cake for my grandchildren but sadly I had wanted it for a much bigger project. I thought I could do a little magic and make it into the plane I was looking for, but it wasn't meant to be. However, the children loved a cake that was different, especially one that was filled with cream. |
